I just ran 22k

Plantar fasciitis and achilles tendonitis have pretty much disappeared
Having first heard about Jane from friends who had been to her Feldenkrais ATM classes, I got in touch to see if perhaps I could have some one-to-one lessons. Jane told me that she only completed her training a couple of years ago. And far from being a problem this is something which I so enjoy. Her interest and enthusiasm for learning, for sharing, for developing her own way of working is infectious, refreshing, and makes for sessions which I enjoy enormously – and which most certainly are helping with undoing the stiffness in my neck and spine, encouraging my body to re-align much more comfortably. The last couple of years have been pretty ghastly in terms of pain when walking or standing -plantar fasciitis and achilles tendonitis – and both of these have pretty much completely disappeared in the time which I’ve been working with Jane. All I can say is, How lucky am I! – because the lessons really have helped, quietly and softly and gently. Having been out of London for a month, I’m so very much looking forward to seeing Jane again now that I’m back. Jenny: 71. Retiree.
I forgot I’d even had the operation..
A few weeks after my hip replacement, I still didn’t feel secure while walking. I felt tense and anxious and even a short walk brought on lower back pain. I was also anxious that my other hip was beginning to degenerate and couldn’t bear the idea of going through the whole process again. ATM classes gave me the chance to reset and find ease and confidence in movement. Someone asked me recently if I’d recovered from the operation. For a few minutes I couldn’t think what they were talking about. Chris, 76,. retired.
More ease and less effort
These carefully crafted lessons have helped me become more aware of how I move and- I think – have changed the way I move. During the lesson, you follow Jane’s voiced instructions – and you’re guided to make small slow movements and explore what this feels like on the inside, how you actually engage your muscles and skeleton inside your body. I’m learning how to engage my spine, ribs, pelvis and use gravity to move more fluidly and reduce muscle fatigue: it’s a case of more ease and less effort.
I feel really well-supported during the sessions, there is no judgement or right or wrong. Instead there’s gentle encouragement to observe how I move. I enjoy hikes on national trails and I now have this extra dimenion as I’m walking – and feeling mynatural plasticity incorporating the tiny adjustments made during our sessions to change how I move. I can now walk for longer and feel more stable on rough terrain. Celine, 62, Programmer.
